| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Elector Frederick August III facing right, with flowing curled hair tied at the nape in the late Baroque manner, truncation visible at the coin's lower field. The portrait is rendered in fine relief with elegant neoclassical detail. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy: FRID.AVG.D.G.DVX SAX.ELECTOR&VICARIVS IMP., identifying the ruler as Frederick August, by the grace of God Duke of Saxony, Elector and Imperial Vicar. The milled border frames the design closely. |
