| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Latin memorial inscription in capital letters reading FRID. AUGUST. / REX. POL. ET EL. SAX. / MATRI DILECTISSIMAE / ANNAE SOPHIAE / PRINC. HERED. REG. DAN. / FLENSBURGI D. 1. SEPT. / 1647. NATAE / VIDUAE ELECT. SAXON. / LICHTENBURGI D. 1. IUL. / 1717. DENATAE / MONUM. PEREN. / F.F., commemorating Anna Sophia, Hereditary Princess of Denmark and Electress Dowager of Saxony, recording her birth at Flensburg on 1 September 1647 and death at Lichtenburg on 1 July 1717. The inscription is surmounted by a royal crown at the top of the field. The entire design is framed by a finely reeded or toothed inner border. |
