| Obverse description | Crowned quartered arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg displayed at center, incorporating lions, hearts, and an eagle across the multiple quarterings, with the date divided across the lower field (16-83 as visible on the example shown). A continuous Latin legend surrounds the shield along the coin's periphery, bordered by an inner beaded circle and an outer milled rim. The heraldic shield is surmounted by a large ornate crown with foliate finials. The overall composition is bold and finely engraved in the late 17th-century German minting tradition. |

The figure is shown nude save for a leafy loincloth and a wreath of foliage about his head, set against a landscape background with trees. The peripheral legend SOLA BONA QUAE HONESTA (Only good things which are honorable) arcs across the upper field, while the lower exergue area bears the fineness and denomination inscription V.
