Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Empress Elizabeth I facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a jewelled crown or tiara. The effigy is rendered in a baroque portrait style typical of mid-18th century Russian coinage, with detailed rendering of the lace or embroidered neckline and armour. The circular Latin legend runs along the upper periphery, separated from the bust by the open field. A beaded or milled border frames the entire design.

Reverse description A small Imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed at centre, crowned with a single crown surmounted by a cross, wings spread, holding a sceptre in the right talon and an orb in the left. The date 1761 is divided across the field, with '17' to the left and '61' to the right of the eagle's body. Below the eagle, a two-line inscription states the denomination and monetary standard. A beaded border frames the periphery.
