Reverse description Central device comprising a crowned oval cartouche bearing an eight-fold quartered coat of arms, with a smaller central escutcheon displaying the quartered arms of Bavaria and the Palatinate, all set within an elaborate Baroque ornamental frame. The shield is superimposed upon a crossed episcopal sword and crozier, symbols of the bishop's temporal and spiritual authority. The date 1723 is divided to the upper left and right of the crown, and the denomination 2/3 appears in the lower field. The surrounding circular Latin legend records the bishop's additional titles and dignities.
