Obverse description Armored bust of Duke Christian Louis II facing right, wearing a cuirass adorned with a jeweled gorget and ornamental shoulder armor. The effigy is rendered in a bold baroque style with finely detailed drapery and facial features. The encircling Latin legend reads CHRIST LUDOV D G DVX MECKLENB, identifying the ruler by name and title, running along the inner border of the coin's rim.
