Reverse description Elaborate quartered arms of Mecklenburg-Schwerin displayed on a crowned shield, supported on either side by wild men (savages) as heraldic supporters, with ornate decorative mantling surrounding the escutcheon. The mint-master's initials P and BH appear to the left and right of the shield respectively. The circumferential legend MECKLENBURGENSIS with the date 1678 runs around the field, separated by rosette stops, within a beaded border.
