Obverse description Draped and armored bust of King Charles XI of Sweden facing right, with long flowing hair, set within the inner field. The Latin legend surrounding the effigy reads CAROL XI D G REX SUE GOT & VAN, denoting his royal titles as King of Sweden, the Goths, and the Vandals. The mintmaster's initials D H M appear in the lower exergue below the bust. The coin is struck within a toothed or reeded border that frames the entire design.
