Reverse description Elaborately quartered heraldic achievement of the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach, surmounted by a princely crown, supported on either side by two Hohenzollern eagles displayed as shield-bearers. The multi-quartered escutcheon incorporates the arms of the various territories held by the Margrave, including the Brandenburgian eagle and other dynastic charges rendered with fine engraving. The date is divided on either side of the denomination fraction ⅔ at the base of the composition, reading 17 – ⅔ – 53. No circular legend is present on the reverse, the inscription appearing on the edge of the coin.
