| Obverse description | Draped bust of Archbishop August of Sachsen-Weissenfels facing right, with long curled hair falling to the shoulders, rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading AUGUSTUS D.G.P.A.M.D.S.I.C.E.M., with the beaded inner border separating the legend from the portrait. The truncation of the bust is cut diagonally across the lower field. The portrait is bold and detailed, characteristic of late 17th-century German coinage. |
