| Reverse description | The reverse features a central emblematic composition dominated by a tall cypress tree rising from a low mound or base, flanked symmetrically on either side by two mounds or pyramids composed entirely of small heart motifs, representing the mourning hearts of the people. The Latin legend QUOT FOLIA TOT CORDA arches across the upper field, meaning 'As many leaves, so many hearts,' with LUGENT ('mourn') inscribed along the lower exergual border. This emblematic device, combining the cypress — a traditional symbol of mourning and immortality — with the massed hearts, conveys the collective grief of the Saxon and Polish peoples at the death of Christiane Eberhardine. The design is enclosed within a milled border and exemplifies the elaborate funerary memorial coinage characteristic of the early eighteenth-century Saxon court. |
