Reverse description The crowned Saxon coat of arms — a quarterly shield of nine horizontal alternating barry fields with a diagonal bend — is centrally displayed, flanked on either side by symmetrical laurel branches tied at the base. A royal crown surmounts the shield. The circular legend ZWANZIG EINE FEINE MARK is distributed around the upper periphery, indicating the coin's fineness standard of twenty to the fine mark. The date appears in the lower exergual area divided by the mintmaster's initial S, with the denomination fraction incorporated within the date on the 1828-dated examples. The rim is bordered by a continuous beaded inner ring.
