Reverse description Central shield bearing the arms of Saxony — horizontally divided barry of ten or and sable with a diagonally placed crancelin — surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is flanked on each side by a leafy oak branch, forming a wreath-like frame. The mintmaster's initial S appears below the shield, flanked by the date 1828 and the denomination fraction 1/3. The circular legend VIERZIG EINE FEINE MARK, indicating the coin's fineness standard of forty pieces to the fine mark, runs along the upper periphery.
