Obverse description Central device depicts the heraldic bear of Anhalt-Bernburg passant to the right, wearing a crown, rendered in fine cross-hatched relief, standing atop a crenellated masonry wall with a rounded archway at its base. The composition fills the inner field and is enclosed by a continuous beaded border running along the coin's periphery. The design is executed in a bold, deeply engraved style characteristic of early nineteenth-century German minting.
