| Obverse description | The arms of the City of Zürich — a per pale shield divided diagonally, displaying the characteristic Zürich heraldic charge — occupy the centre of the field, supported on either side by a rampant lion acting as heraldic supporter. The shield is surmounted by a closed helmet adorned with a flowing plume crest. The entire achievement rests upon an ornate baroque cartouche with scrollwork mantling. The circular legend MONETA REIPUBLICAE TURICENSIS runs along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals. |
