| Obverse description | Central device features the distinctive Augsburg pine cone (Pyr or Zirbelnuss), the heraldic symbol of the city, mounted on an ornate pedestal and flanked by two leafy branches forming a wreath-like arrangement within an inner circle. The pine cone is rendered in high relief with finely detailed scales. The surrounding legend reads AVGVSTA VINDELICORVM with the Roman numeral date M·DC·XXIV (shown here for 1624), separated by pellets, running along the outer border between an inner beaded circle and an outer toothed rim. |
