Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a large crowned double-headed imperial eagle is displayed with wings spread, rendered in fine relief characteristic of late sixteenth-century hammered coinage. An imperial crown surmounts both heads. The surrounding Latin legend, separated from the central device by the inner circle and from the coin's edge by a milled border, carries the Genevan Reformed motto, punctuated by star and rosette stops. The letter G appears at the beginning of the legend, denoting the Geneva mint.
