Reverse description A displayed Imperial eagle with wings spread and head turned to the left occupies the central field, rendered in the bold Renaissance style characteristic of Swiss municipal coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. The eagle's breast is covered with scale-like feathering, and its talons grip the lower field. A beaded inner circle surrounds the device, and the circumferential Latin legend DOMINE*CONSERVA*NOS*IN*PACE, meaning 'Lord, preserve us in peace', runs between beaded borders with cross stops as separators.
