| Obverse description | Laureate head of Asklepios facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with curling hair and a short beard. The laureate wreath is clearly delineated with individual leaves swept back across the scalp. The facial features are modelled with naturalistic depth, characteristic of the skilled engravers active on Kos during the second century BC. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with the design well-centred. No legend appears on the obverse. |
