Obverse description Griffin seated left in a dynamic rearing posture, with the right foreleg raised and displaying a stylized talon or bunch of grapes at its tip, a characteristic motif of Abderite coinage. The creature's eagle head features an open beak and prominent crest, while the leonine hindquarters are rendered with muscular detail. The serpentine tail curls upward behind the body in an elegant arc. The flan is irregular, with the design occupying a broad, unbordered field typical of Thraco-Macedonian silver issues of the Classical period.
