| Obverse description | Facing forepart of a lion in archaic style occupying the lower field, rendered with bold, deeply struck relief characteristic of early Lycian coinage. Above the lion, three Lycian letters in the local script are arranged in a horizontal legend across the upper field. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with a rough, granular surface texture typical of hammered silver coinage of the Archaic period. The overall composition is compact, with the figural and epigraphic elements filling the available field. |
