| Obverse description | Griffin springing to the left in a dynamic pose, rendered in archaic Greek style with spread wings, leonine hindquarters, and an eagle's beak and foreparts. The creature is depicted with considerable detail, the wing feathers carefully articulated and the musculature of the body well modeled. The type is characteristic of Abdera's coinage, for which the griffin served as the city's principal civic emblem. |

| Reverse description | Head of Hermes facing left within a shallow incuse square, wearing the broad-brimmed petasos hat. A caduceus is depicted in the left field. The magistrate's name is rendered in Greek letters arranged around the field, all contained within a linear border. The style is consistent with Abderan silver coinage of the early fourth century BC. |
