Reverse description Laureate head of Apollo facing left, rendered in fine Classical style with neatly arranged hair and delicate facial features, enclosed within a square linear incuse frame. The ethnic legend ΑΒΔΗΡΙΤΕΩΝ is distributed around the exterior of the square border, with individual letters placed in each corner and along the sides. The portrait exhibits the refined Hellenistic artistic treatment typical of Abderite coinage, with a wreath of laurel framing the god's youthful profile. The square frame device is a hallmark of Abdera's silver coinage throughout this period.
