| Obverse description | Griffin seated to left in three-quarter view, with wings spread and raised, the body rendered in high relief with carefully articulated feathering along the wing surfaces. The creature's leonine haunches are tucked beneath its body, and the curved beak and alert head face left. The type is contained within a beaded border, characteristic of Abderite coinage of this period, and the overall style reflects the accomplished die-cutting tradition of this Thracian mint. |

| Reverse description | Deep incuse square divided into a raised inner square frame at center, within which appears a forepart of a goat to right, the head turned back to left with short horns clearly visible. The magistrate's name ANAΞIΔIKOΣ is inscribed in Greek letters distributed around the four sides of the incuse field outside the inner square, reading across the top, right, bottom, and left margins respectively. This layout — a subsidiary type within a mill-sail or linear incuse — is characteristic of the civic coinage of Abdera during the late fifth and early fourth centuries BC. |
