| Obverse description | Forepart of a ketos (sea-monster) facing left, rendered in archaic style with bold, deeply modelled relief. The creature displays a pronounced open jaw with serrated teeth clearly delineated, a prominent round eye, and a scaled or ridged neck curving into a scroll-like fin or crest at the right. The naturalistic yet stylised treatment is characteristic of early fifth-century Carian coinage from Kindya. |
