Obverse description Bust of the nymph Histiaia facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and bound with a vine wreath, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. The hair is swept upward in loose, flowing waves secured with a cluster of grapes and vine tendrils, a hallmark of this celebrated coinage. The nymph's features are finely engraved, with a delicate profile and a beaded necklace visible at the throat. The high-relief portrait fills the field with exceptional artistry, characteristic of the skilled die-cutters of Histiaia. No inscription appears on the obverse.
