Reverse description Turreted Tyche, the city goddess, is depicted seated right, holding a cista mystica upon her knees, personifying the fortune of Aureliopolis. To her left, the bearded mountain-god Tmolos strides forward to the right, bearing a vine branch laden with grapes over his shoulder, and extends his arm to crown Tyche in a gesture of divine patronage. The composition reflects the civic pride and mythological identity of the Lydian city, with the reverse legend naming the strategos Apollonides as the magistrate responsible for the coin's issue.
