Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic provincial style characteristic of the Antiochene mint. The emperor's effigy displays a wreath of laurel leaves about the head, with characteristic Flavian facial features. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, reading from left to right along the upper and lower periphery of the flan. The flan is notably irregular in shape, as is typical of Syro-Phoenician silver coinage of this period.
