Obverse description Stylised Celtic imitation of the Thasian Dionysos type: wreathed and ivy-crowned head facing right, rendered in the characteristically abstracted Celtic manner with bold, schematic hair locks arranged in a curvilinear fan above the brow. The facial features are simplified yet expressive, with a prominent ear indicated by a globular pellet. The wreath, composed of berry-clusters and ivy leaves, is rendered in high relief with a decorative, almost geometric treatment typical of Eastern European Celtic die-cutting.
