Obverse description Standing nude figure of Telephos (Herakles as a youth) facing, depicted frontally in the field at center, holding attributes associated with the hero. The circular Greek legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ EYEPΓETΟΥ THΛEΦΟΥ (of King Euergetes Telephos) runs around the periphery of the flan in raised letters, framing the central type. The style is characteristic of late Indo-Greek coinage, with the irregular flan and bold, somewhat schematic rendering typical of the period.
