Obverse description Diademed head of Seleukos IV Philopator facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with finely detailed curling hair bound by a royal diadem, the ends of which fall behind the neck. A wreath appears in the left field behind the royal portrait. The effigy displays idealized yet individualizing features consistent with Seleucid royal portraiture of the early second century BC. The entire design is enclosed within a dotted border.
