| Obverse description | Head of Herakles in right profile, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress, rendered in the canonical Lysippan style established under Alexander III. The musculature of the lion's maw is finely modelled, with the beast's paws knotted at the throat. The facial features display a youthful, idealized quality consistent with late Seleucid die-cutting in the Alexandrine tradition. The field is plain, with no legend, in keeping with the posthumous Alexandrine coinage conventions. |
