| Obverse description | Diademed head of Seleukos II Kallinikos facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with richly detailed wavy hair swept back from the forehead and secured by a royal diadem whose ends fall behind the neck. The portrait displays youthful idealized features with a strong profile, slightly parted lips, and a prominent nose. The flan fills the field generously, with no surrounding legend, following the Seleucid royal portrait convention inherited from Alexander III coinage. The modeling of the hair and facial musculature exhibits high-relief die-cutting characteristic of the Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. |
