| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Sarpedonus facing left in the Indo-Parthian style, closely resembling the portrait type of Orthagnes, with diademed or helmeted head. The effigy is rendered in a provincial Hellenistic manner typical of the Arachosian mint. A Greek legend encircles the bust within the field, reading ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΨΝ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΣΟΡΠΗΔΟΝΟΥ, designating Sarpedonus as Great King of Kings. |
