Obverse description Draped bust of Artemis facing right, her hair elaborately arranged and bound with a diadem or fillet, with loose curling locks falling at the nape. A bow and quiver are visible over her left shoulder, identifying the deity as the huntress goddess. The portrait is rendered in a refined Hellenistic style with naturalistic facial features. The field is bordered by a prominent dotted bead-and-reel (dentilated) inner circle, a characteristic feature of late Hellenistic civic coinage from the Troad region.
