| Reverse description | Armored warrior on horseback advancing to the right at a vigorous canter, wearing a crested helmet and cuirass, brandishing a long spear held diagonally across the body. Beneath the horse's forelegs lies a fallen enemy figure, trampled underfoot, a motif closely derived from the Patraos tetradrachm prototype of the Paeonians. Greek legend disposed in the field around the equestrian group, with letter groups flanking the rider. The whole composition is enclosed within a beaded border on an irregularly shaped flan. |
