| Obverse description | Draped bust of the city goddess Tyche of Smyrna facing right, wearing a distinctive turreted mural crown adorned with battlements, her wavy hair falling in loose locks beneath the crown. The portrait is rendered in the refined Hellenistic style characteristic of late 2nd century BC Ionian civic coinage, with delicate facial features and naturalistic modelling of the hair.
