Obverse description Radiate bust of Emperor Nero facing right, clad in the aegis, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The radiate crown is clearly delineated, conveying imperial and solar authority. The Greek legend surrounding the effigy reads ΝΕΡ ΚΛΑΥ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒΑ ΓΕΡ ΑΥΤΟ, abbreviating Nero Claudius Caesar Sebastos Germanikos Autokrator. The portrait exhibits the characteristic thick neck and rounded facial features associated with Neronian Alexandrian coinage.
