Obverse description Bridled horse prancing to left in high relief, its head turned slightly downward and forelegs raised dynamically. A filleted bucranium (ox skull adorned with a fillet) is depicted in the upper right field. The rendering is vigorous and naturalistic, consistent with the accomplished die-cutting tradition of Thracian coinage of the fourth century BC. The field is plain, with no exergual line or legend.
