| Obverse description | Diademed head of Mithridates VI Eupator facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style evoking the heroic imagery of Alexander the Great. The effigy displays flowing, luxuriant hair swept back from the forehead in anastole fashion, with individual locks rendered in fine relief. A royal diadem is tied around the head, with the ends falling behind the neck.
