Reverse description A stag grazing to left occupies the central field, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic musculature and delicate detail. The Greek royal legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ appears above, with MIΘPAΔATOY and EYΠATOPOΣ arranged in two lines below the stag. To the left, a star-in-crescent symbol surmounts the regnal year date ΔKΣ (year 224 of the Pontic era, corresponding to 74 BC). Two monograms identifying the mint magistrates appear to the right of the stag, while the letter B, denoting the second month of issue, is placed in the exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a Dionysiac wreath of ivy leaves and fruit, a characteristic feature of the Pergamene mint series of Mithridates VI.
