| Reverse description | Pegasus, the winged horse, standing left with head lowered in a grazing pose, rendered with careful anatomical detail. To the left field, the distinctive Pontic royal badge of a star within a crescent appears prominently. To the right, the Pontic regnal year IΣ (year 210 of the Pontic era, corresponding to 87 BC) is inscribed above a control monogram, while the month letter H appears in the exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a Dionysiac wreath composed of ivy leaves and clusters of fruit, the encircling legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ MIΘPAΔATOY EYΠATOPOΣ reading 'of King Mithradates Eupator.' |
