| Obverse description | Diademed portrait bust of Mithradates VI Eupator facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic royal tradition with idealised, youthful features. The king is depicted with abundant, tightly curled hair swept back from the forehead in flowing waves, a hallmark of the Pontic royal portraiture style evoking Alexandrine iconography. A plain diadem binds the hair above the brow, signifying royal authority.
