Obverse description Diademed bust of Mithradates VI Eupator facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic tradition with pronounced heroic features. The hair is depicted in flowing, wild locks cascading behind and around the head, reminiscent of representations of Alexander the Great and Herakles, conveying divine royal imagery. The diadem is tied at the back with trailing ends visible. The portrait is executed in high relief with fine engraving, characteristic of the Pergamene mint's accomplished die-cutting style. The field is smooth and unlettered on the obverse.
