| Obverse description | Diademed head of Mithridates VI Eupator facing right, portrayed in the Hellenistic royal tradition with idealised, youthful features. The hair is rendered in deeply articulated, flowing waves radiating from the crown and cascading in thick, undulating locks around the face and neck, a stylistic hallmark associated with this king's portraiture. A plain diadem is visible across the forehead, denoting royal status. The effigy is executed in high relief with fine engraving, reflecting the accomplished die-cutting tradition of the Pergamene mint. No legend appears on the obverse. |
