| Reverse description | A stag depicted grazing to the left occupies the central field, rendered naturalistically with careful attention to musculature and proportion. The Greek legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ is arranged above the stag, while MIΘPAΔATOY and EYΠATOPOΣ are inscribed in two lines below, identifying the issuer as King Mithradates Eupator. To the left of the stag appears a star-in-crescent symbol, a dynastic emblem of the Pontic royal house, while to the right the regnal year Δ (year 4) is placed above a monogram.
