Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Mithridates II facing left, wearing a distinctive tiara-style diadem with a beaded border, his long beard rendered in carefully engraved wavy locks characteristic of early Parthian portraiture. The king is depicted in three-quarter profile with strong facial features, the diadem ties falling behind the neck. The entire effigy is enclosed within a beaded border, the portrait displaying a high level of Hellenistic artistic influence in its naturalistic modeling.
