Reverse description A deeply recessed square incuse punch contains the principal design: a grapevine with a central trunk from which elaborate branches extend, bearing multiple hanging bunches of grapes, emblematic of the city's renowned wine production. Surrounding the incuse square on all four sides, the magistrate's name ΜΗΤΡΟΔΟΤΟΣ is inscribed in large Greek letters arranged clockwise around the exterior of the square frame, with individual letters placed at the top, right, bottom, and left margins respectively.
