| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of King Menander I facing right, the royal diadem tied with two trailing fillets visible behind the head, the hair rendered in fine curling locks in the Hellenistic tradition. The king's effigy is depicted with strong, youthful features in high relief, the drapery falling neatly over the right shoulder. The entire portrait is contained within a well-executed bead-and-reel border encircling the field. |
