| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, rendered in high relief with a short beard characteristic of his portraiture. The emperor wears a paludamentum over segmented armour, with fine detailing on the drapery folds visible at the shoulder and chest. A dotted border frames the field. The Greek imperial legend surrounds the effigy, reading from upper right and continuing around the full periphery of the flan. |
